Girly Man

Today at work, one of the distant colleagues who gets to interact with me like once in a quarter, surprised me by showing this video after a meeting. Its the good old chiranjeevi 50 years ago. The funny part is the subtitles. They are not translated but phonetically converted to English.

On another note I watched Chak De recently and it had its own "Girly Man". It was a fairly tolerable movie. I am not very impressed by the ending though. If I were to have my way, the captain of the girl's team would be Christian and she would miss the last shot against the Aussies in the Finals. And then she would have to come back to India and everybody calls her "gadaar" or the feminine equivalent and eventually she ends up coaching the men's team to win a gold she never won. And thus we would get into a perpetual loop.

Between did anybody else wonder why ShahRukh's girls didn't defeat Pakistan in the Finals? I think it is because Pakistan does not have a women's hockey team. Not to mean that Pakistani women cant play good hockey but they have a very different social, religious and cultural dynamics which is probably more discouraging for the ladies than the Indian model.

Like in the movie, today Zimbabwe filed a surprise victory over the highly ranked Aussies. The Aussies will definitely spring back from the humiliating defeat handed over to them, but it goes to show that they are not "unbreakable" as many people seem to believe. I wonder how the Indian team would do. I am glad we at least have a captain who wants to win now. We should probably stick to this team even after this tourney. The old men should focus on making themselves good commentators for the future.

Vinay like always has come up with a very cheerful blog. The highlights of the blog being "Perpetual Loop" . I didn’t get to watch the video coz I was at work. However there are a lot of things about this blog that surprised me. First of all coming from Vinay's stable it usually is long and deep in thought. This one was short. It was so short that the ending just came abruptly. Professional critics might also find it highly uncorrelated also

"…. Agreed the string of events he mentioned have something in common. But the correlation is very amatuer and Vinay I feel can do Better…."

Final Note whatever critics say it was still enjoyable to a commoner like me.Short Sweet and Cheerful. Thank you Mr.Vinay

Dear Mr.Aramraju

That is a very insightful review and is indeed deeper than the blog itself. And I agree that the review (including the several discalimers) is actually longer than the blog. I absolutely love my readers but the hectic work schedule is taking its toll on my creative juices. It is not easy to be the worlds biggest spammer (and thats not including all the mail I send out to you guys informing of updates on the blog) The blog was written with tight deadlines to fulfill the needs of hungry readers who have been waiting anxiously for my work. I thought of including my views on The Nuclear deal and Left's support to the goverenment but tought that it would make it even more amateurish.

And if you have been following the theme of the blog, "Surprising the reader" has always been a big thing and this one did its job.

To satisfy my hot and sexy "anonymous critics" I will definitely get back to my deep insightful writing on the dynamics of the world.

In the meantime I would highly recommend everybody to watch the "Girly Man" video and have some healthy fun. And just an interesting FYI, it was a white American who showed me the video and not an Indian.

Thanks
Vinay

Vinay,
I have been an ardent fan of ur writing and I just cant have enough. Sorry to put sooo much pressure on you, but u need to write more buddy.
I dont care if its deep insightful or light and sweet, long or short......it has to be more than one blog a month.

in 2005 u wrote one blog.....good start
in 2006 u wrote 22.....wow...astounding growth
but in 2007.....we are almost into Oct and u have only 13.....we fans cant accept this....it needs to be atleast 2 blogs a month....whenever u get ur paycheck make sure u earn it by writing a blog.

i know u must be feeling like sachin tendulkar now with a perennial pressure to perform. But pls remember like sachin who bats for all of us just because he is the best among us....u r our chosen representative to write for all of us. Please achieve our dreams for us.

Waiting impatiently,
ur most ardent fan

My dear most ardent fan,
I am very inspired by your flattery and now have revised my target for the year end to a min of 23 blogs.
You shd have known that it is fairly easy to flatter me and force into writing more often.

Also this gives one more reason to think about our "PhD plan". That way we all can be back in school with lots of time to think about things we like to think about. What say?
